Black Friday

At midnight today my dad and I went to Target to see if we could find a second TV for their downstairs area. There was a HUGE line outside but it moved pretty steadily. He was able to snatch up a 40inch LCD for a great price. I found some great deals on some things for M, like a Leapster game for $15 and classic games for $3.99.

The worst part was standing in line which had everyone going in and out of the isles to get to the registers. The 2 hour wait to get out was worth it all, though. We got what we came for.

My typical day.

My afternoon so far? Blood, tears, paint stains, and spicy ramen. Not in any order and not all related. Take it for what you will.

I want a strong, fruity drink and then just knock the fuck out. No interruptions!

Parenting is the scariest thing, but most rewarding.

Don't get me wrong. Since my daughter was born she has been nothing but amazing. Despite giving birth at what is considered a young age, she is my little miracle. Let's backtrack:

Ever since I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at 16, I've always wondered if I could have a baby. Or at least safely. You see, my paternal grandmother, who also has Crohn's, had uterine cancer not long after having my father. I sometimes feel like I could have the same health problems as she has had. She's also had breast cancer. She is a survivor, definitely.

After my major surgery this July, I now have more to think about. I can have another baby, but the pregnancy may not be as easy as my last. Random: how weird would my huge scar look with a huge belly?! Heh.

I'm off track here but this is something I definitely wanted to blog about as well. Something "off my chest". More tomorrow.

Alaska

We arrived in Alaska on October 8. Almost a month now, and things are going great!

The first snowfall came early yesterday morning and Madison could.not.stop.smiling. She's never seen ANY snow before, so this was special for all of us to see. As of right now, it's snowing again. Big, fat snowflakes. I'm hoping it stops tonight so we can take her Trick-or-Treating.

I didn't think it was possible, since I'm not a dog person, but I really miss our dog. Compared to my parents' dog, Rocco, who is a bulldog, having a small and fluffy dog is so much better. She's so sweet and gentle.

I'm hoping November goes fast. I can't wait for Eddy to get here to see how different it is here. He really hasn't traveled much his whole life, except for the trips to Mexico when he was a kid. I think he'll really enjoy it here. It's beautiful.

Oh, yeah. My laptop has been 'dead' for a couple of weeks now. My dad brought it back to life just an hour ago and I am SO THANKFUL AND HAPPY! My iPhone also had to be restored yesterday, and I lost all of my music and pictures. :(

Leaving on a jet plane...

I leave for my 'vacation' to Alaska in 10 days. Going for about three months! I'M SO FREAKING NERVOUS/ANXIOUS. I'll be flying for a total of EIGHT hours with my three year old. I'll be praying God that she doesn't act like a brat or piss herself while in the air. Please oh please oh please.

This weekend I'm getting any travel stuff we'll need. A few snacks, games, and either a backpack or new carry-on bag. Still not sure how I'll bring my laptop along.

On another note, I can't believe I didn't blog before or after my surgery. :/ I'm doing great, just random soreness once in a while on my scar. Can't really pick M up though. She's too heavy, and I'm too short. Ha!
